the fun and vote for your favorite contestant in the first ever Pipestone “KISS
THE PIG” contest sponsored by United Way of Pipestone County. Participants for the “KISS THE PIG” contest
are: Mick Myers, Executive Director of Pipestone Chamber of Commerce; Bill
VanHoecke, On-Air Personality KLOH Radio; and Laurie Ness, Mayor of City of
Pipestone. Each will compete for the
opportunity to “KISS THE PIG” at the Pipestone County Pork Producers Feed on
Friday, August 13th at 6:15 pm at the Pipestone County Fair.
Everyone
can vote by placing coins, bills, or checks in your favorite candidate’s
canister. Voting canisters can be found
at: First Bank & Trust, First Farmers & Merchants, First State Bank,
JB’s Shell, KLOH Radio Station, Pipestone Chamber of Commerce, and Subway from
August 2nd through August 13th.
The contestant that raises the most money will win the privilege of
puckering up and kissing a real, live pig.
Proceeds
from the contest will help United Way of Pipestone County in their annual
fundraising campaign. United Way of
Pipestone County has set a goal for raising $46,000 for 2010. In 2009, United Way of Pipestone County gave a
total of $45,000 to 33 organizations in Pipestone County.
